The seminar on the Art and Science of Negotiation aims at providing students with the opportunity, on one hand, to get familiar with a negotiation method “the diplomatic engineering” and on the other hand, to apply their theoretical knowledge to a concrete and complex international relations issue. The outcome of the seminar’s work is the conduct of a simulation of negotiation.

The seminar will take place over two semesters, in spring and autumn 2018 and will focus on the negotiation between North Korea and the international community. More specifically, the teaching objective is to define and to explore a negotiation framework between North Korea and the international community in order to limit and neutralize the risks associated with North Korea’s ballistic and nuclear activities.
