Computational imaging breaks the limitation of traditional digital imaging by combining the ideas from technical optics, Fourier optics, information theory, image processing, computer graphics, and computer vision to acquire visual information deeper (e.g., high dynamic range imaging and low light imaging) and broader (e.g., spectrum, light field, and 3D imaging). Driven by industry, the computational imaging systems have a wide range of applications in consumer electronics, scientific imaging, HCI, medical imaging, microscopy, and remote sensing.
