These seminars tackle a large variety of topics in the field of experimental particle physics, following the scientific questions of the moment. Every two weeks, a physicist is invited, usually from abroad, to present is field of research in a concise way, accessible to the non-specialist.
Each seminar lasts about 50 minutes. It is followed by the questions from the audience and then by an informal discussion with the speaker. It is generally given in English. It represents a good example of high level scientific communication.
The program of the semester is developed in order to cover the broadest possible range of subjects including, inter alia:
· Detector R & D
· LHC Physics
· Neutrino Physics
· Astroparticle Physics
· Precision Physics and/or exploratory research from relatively small collaborations
The students are encouraged to propose seminar topics according to their interests.
