Drawing on interdisciplinary insights from political sociology, science and technology studies, and law, SACHA and IHDS students learn to analyse our existing governance infrastructures and their structuring role in conflicts where expertise and innovation are disputed in the quest for sustainability. To do so the students engage in an in-depth investigation of one single case study; using a vast variety of primary sources they map the different controversies and positions in the conflit about pulp mills on the River Uruguay and reinact the case opoosing Argentina and Uruguay before the International Court of Justice.
