Objectif
The main aim of this class is to help French-speaking students improve their knowledge and understanding of English language and culture, and to help English-speaking students to improve their knowledge of French language and culture and gain practical experience of translating into English.
Descriptif
This course is divided into two separate classes, one designed for native speakers of French, the other for native speakers of English.
Students will do practice translations covering a number of different text types and topics. The course will focus on improving students' grammatical accuracy and deepening their knowledge and understanding of the cultural, syntactic and idiomatic differences to be taken into consideration when translating between French and English.

Evaluation
Examen écrit.
Two-hour written exam. The student will translate a 300-word text. Optional seminar work (two-hour written exam).
