This
course is intended for non-native English speakers. The aim is for students to familiarize themselves with the differences between Italian and English, not only on a grammatical, lexical and syntactic level, but also on a stylistic level. Throughout the semester, you will be asked to
- edit and improve texts translated by non-native English speakers
- translate a variety of different texts from IT to EN, including tourist texts, first-person and autobiographical narratives, newspaper editorials and ads
- read similar texts produced in English and identify differences with the Italian texts, in terms of voice and style
- revise and improve each other's translations
