This introductory, hands-on course in quantitative methods for neuroscience is aimed primarily at Master students from Biology and Psychology. Across 14 weeks and 56 contact hours, it combines lectures with TA-led coding sessions in Python. The course begins with an introduction in coding, a refresher in mathematics, probability, and descriptive statistics, then moves to inference, regression, mixed-effects models, and the linear algebra concepts needed for dimensionality reduction. It then introduces PCA and related methods, before covering the foundations of time-series and spectral analysis, including Fourier and wavelet approaches. Throughout the course, students work on concrete neuroscience datasets and learn to produce reproducible analyses, figures, and interpretations using a structured Python workflow.
