This one-semester course is designed for Information Systems and Enterprise Management students. As a result, it focuses on providing practical knowledge of the data communication concepts and technologies that most students are likely to encounter after graduation, rather than trying to cover every possible topic and technology in this vast field.
We present the minimal set of technologies that are absolutely necessary to realize computer networking in organizations - including Ethernet, TCP/IS, ARP, NAT, DNS, DHCP, routing, subnetting and security - and explain what each of these technologies does, why it's necessary, and how it works.
