This course examines sustainable development through the lens of economics: how growth, institutions, resources, and the environment interact, and how economic tools can inform sustainability strategies. Topics include the resource curse, sustainability measurement, common-pool resources, ecosystem valuation, human capital, and climate policy. No prior economics background is required.
