The course covers basic human resource management (HRM) practices such as (i) attracting, selecting, and developing people, (ii) managing people’s performance and paying them, (iii) creating favorable work conditions, (iv) retaining, disciplining, and firing people, as well as (v) recent challenges and trends in HRM. In terms of teaching format, the course largely rests on traditional lectures but also includes exercises, podcasts, videos, and in-class discussions.
