This course examines how decisions are made in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence. It draws on foundational research in behavioral science and cognitive psychology and applies these insights to questions about how AI systems influence how we think, feel, and decide.

The course is divided into three parts: 1) First, we explore how humans make decisions and why we sometimes go wrong. 2) Second, we examine how different AI systems (such as recommender systems, personalization tools, and AI companions) shape what we see, want, and choose. 3) Finally, we consider the broader impact of AI on individual and societal decisions.

The course draws on academic research and applied examples to build a critical understanding of how to design and evaluate on decisions in AI-mediated environments and implement AI responsibly.
