Information Retrieval / Recherche d'Information

This course is about Information Retrieval (IR).

• IR is first cast into the modern setting of Word embeddings (linear and no-linear models)
• IR is also studied in the context of Learning to Rank
• Models for Web IR such as Google PageRank are studied in relation to information propagation on networks. This is done in relation to Social Networks Analysis (and epidemic models)
• Recommendation systems models (low rank models) are also modeled in relation to graph analysis
• Visual IR and Audio IR are discussed

The first Exercises session will happen on 20/2 at 9am in room 301 (Battelle A).

The first lecture will be same room same day at 4pm.
