We have discovered more the 4000 planets orbiting around other stars than the Sun. How can we detect them, how they differ from what we see in the Solar system.

In this course, after going through basic astrophysical concepts, useful to understand the physics addressed further, we will discuss how can we detect exoplanets, and what do we know today about their properties. We will then go more in depth in their internal structure, but also in the different architecture of planetary systems and how this can gives us clues to understand the formation of planets. Finally, the last part of the course will be dedicated to exoplanet atmospheres. How can we probe them, and what is our knowledge today.
